About

The record of what this university has learned

The institutional repository of the Catholic University of Ghana holds the theses, dissertations and research output of the university and keeps them available for the long term.

How a thesis is deposited

Deposits are made by the School of Graduate Studies once a thesis has been examined and approved. Students do not deposit directly.

The Graduate School uploads the final PDF and describes the work: title, author, supervisor, department, degree and year. The University Library then checks that description against the bound copy. A repository administrator releases the record, and it becomes searchable worldwide.

Embargo

An embargo keeps the file closed while the record stays visible, so the work can be cited and found while a patent application, a publisher agreement or a confidentiality undertaking is still running.

Embargoes are set at the point of deposit and lift automatically on the recorded date. Requests for an embargo go to the School of Graduate Studies, not to the Library.

Machine access

Records are exposed for harvesting over OAI-PMH so that Google Scholar, national aggregators and other discovery services can index them.

For bulk access or a research collaboration, write to the University Library rather than crawling the site: downloads are rate-limited.
